Project


We are looking for an experienced Senior Problem Solving Engineer to join a global engineering team developing next-generation automotive power electronics solutions for electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV).

In this role, you will be responsible for leading complex technical investigations, identifying root causes of field and customer-reported issues, and driving corrective actions across system, hardware, software, calibration, and validation domains. You will work closely with customers, development teams, and technical experts to ensure robust and reliable power electronics products throughout the product lifecycle.

 

Responsibilities you'll have

  • Lead cross-functional technical investigations for customer and product-related issues.
  • Perform systematic root cause analysis across hardware, software, system, calibration, and vehicle integration domains.
  • Analyze system behavior and interactions between vehicle applications, electronics hardware, embedded software, and power electronics functions.
  • Drive problem resolution activities from issue identification through containment, corrective actions, validation, and closure.
  • Collaborate with system, software, hardware, test, validation, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Support customer discussions and represent technical findings during reviews and escalation meetings.
  • Analyze requirements, assess the impact of design changes, and ensure alignment with product and customer expectations.
  • Use engineering tools to evaluate system performance, communication networks, measurements, and calibration data.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, lessons learned, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Provide technical leadership and ownership for critical product issues and drive decisions based on engineering evidence.

 

Expected competences and knowledge:

  • Master of Engineering degree in Automotive/Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics
  • 8+ years of experience in automotive system development of Automotive Power Electronics.
  • Deep understanding of system-level interactions between hardware, software, and vehicle use cases.
  • Strong hands-on mentality with the ability to technically lead teams across sites and competencies.
  • Strong communication skills with proven customer interaction.
  • Independent working and strong skills in systemic root cause analysis a must
  • Demonstrated ability to take technical ownership, make sound engineering decisions, and drive topics
    to closure.
  • Structured, analytical working style with a strong focus on quality, robustness, and efficiency.
  • Tool Experience (expected):
    - Requirement & Task management Polarion / Atlassian JIRA
    - Test and calibration ETAS INCA and Vector CANape & CANoe
    - Communication & Network OBD Scan-Tools & CAN-bus analysis tools
    - Development & Analysis MathWorks MATLAB & Simulink
    - Safety mindset and strong working knowledge of ISO20262
  • Qualification and hands on experience in HV Safety
  • Strong presentation skills, clearly conveying complex data to technical and management audiences.
  • Solid experience in requirements management, and impact analysis.
  • Collaborative team player, working effectively across functions to achieve shared goals.
  • Positive, cooperative mindset, fostering trust and effective teamwork
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language, German is an asset
  • Valid driving license, minimum category B
